Welcome to Byron
Byron is a quaint, small town located in east Peach County. I-75 includes 2 exits to this town of approximately 5,000 residents. It was incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly in 1874. While the newest town in Peach County, Byron has an old-town feel to it. Downtown highlights historic homes and small businesses in historic buildings.
Boundaries
Byron is unique in that the city has boundaries in 3 different counties: Peach (primarily), Houston, and Crawford. It spans approximately 9 square miles, and has immediate access from I-75 north and south.
Interesting facts about Byron:
- The town was named after the famous British Romantic poet, Lord Byron!
- Byron is considered by many to be the geographical center of the state of Georgia.
